A Percoid Fish for Half a Crown
There once lived a fellow who seemed to be named after a blue-spotted,
crimson, spiny-finned, percoid fish which was purchased for half a crown.
(Here we insert two words, separated by "and," selected at random from the
great multitude of such linguistic constructs which would sustain the trochaic
tetrameter already established, and would also correspond in terminal sound to
the last word in the next line, in which lies the crux of the matter. The
first word indicates a thick, creamy dessert, and the second, an obsolete
Pakistani monetary unit equal to 1/192nd of a rupee.) Anyway, this fellow
enjoyed intimidating the fairer sex by giving each a large buss. So
aggravated were the victims of his attentions, they all, without exception,
burst into tears. (That was the line with which the two randomly-selected
words had to rhyme.) Subsequently, however, the young upstart got a taste of
his own medicine, for, while he could handle causing the females grief, when
their male counterparts, drawn to the scene by all the brouhaha, appeared, he
elected to exercise the better part of valour, and rather than engage in
fisticuffs, he hasted thence.
